A good online demonstration to the chairman of Hampshire Rugby Referees Society who will recommend to his committee that they subscribe to WTR to manager their appointments for the 2010/11 season.

27-07-2010 SW Cricket Umpires at Trowbridge

The purpose of this meeting is to plan how WTU can record pitch-side assessment reports to assist the ACO's in the grading of umpires. This performance-analysis facility will play a key role in the wider trial planned by the ECB for 2011.

22-07-2010 Hampshire ACO

Visit to the lovely Hampshire Rose Bowl for a presentation. The ACO are participating in an ECB ACO trial to test whos-the-umpire.com in a multi-organisation / multi-level scenario. A key element of this trial will be recording of pitch-side umpire assessments and the sharing of such reports with authorised grading managers. This procedure will have identify umpires who have the potential to progress to higher standards of officiating.

13-07-2010 Visit from Roy McCombe

Roy is the National Referee Manager for the Scottish Rugby Union and he contributed significant ideas for the future development of Whos-The-Ref.com. This meeting is for a review of progress to date, and to plan the preparation for the forthcoming new season. WTR remain the preferred supplier to the SRU for 2010/11.

22-06-2010 Notts, Lincs, Derby Demo

NLD are one of the largest Midlands Group societies. Will run a trial on WTR during October / November, with the aim to go live on Jan 1st.

18-06-2010 Demonstration to SW Cricket Counties

The ECB must have liked what they saw at Lords as this meeting in Trowbridge has been organised for all the SW cricket ACO's to view WTU and decide whether they would like to participate in a trial of the project. All counties express an interest, with one committing immediately.

07-06-2010 Introduction to the ECB ACO at Lords

Visit to the offices at Lords (MCC) to introduce whos-the-umpire.com. The two existing WTU users (Wiltshire ACO & Bristol ACUAS) have highlighted the benefits of a successful implementation of an online appointments system and brought this to the attention of the ECB. This meeting is a general introduction of the software to investigate whether it could fit in a nationwide scenario and discover whether it would fulfil the ECB ACO's primary needs.

25-05-2010 Cornwall

This travelling malarky does have some perks as I travel through Cornwall to the bottom corner to meet appointments officer Al Denham. After a successful demo, Al discussed WTR with the committee who have decided to subscribe. Thats now five societies!

24-05-2010 Bristol Referee's Society

Back to the South West for an evening appointment with Bristol Rugby Referees Society. Some challenging questions but must have been okay as they are now also users! Four societies in the South West now using WTR (plus two cricket associations using WTU). Cornwall tomorrow.....

20-05-2010 Somerset Rugby

Demonstrated WTR to Mike Purse and his jolly team of appointers / re-appointers. Somerset had previously used EasyRef and had made contributions to the RFU's RugbyFirst Appointments System, but have now opted to commit to Whos-The-Ref.com.

05-05-2010 Demonstration to Oxford Referees Society

Presentation to the committee of Oxford Rugby Referee's Society. With no hesitation they have subscribed to WTR for 2010/11, becoming the second society within the RFU South West Group to do so.

20-04-2010 Dorset & Wilts Referee Society

Whos-the-ref.com are pleased to announce that after a enjoyable presentation last night, Dorset & Wilts Referee Society (Rugby) have taken out an annual subscription starting from the 2010/2011 season. The website will play a key role in managing their rugby referee appointments in particular the recuitment and management of new referees.

15-04-2010 Busy Busy Week!

Four solid enquiries for whos-the-ref.com from rugby referee societies around England. Two demonstrations next week, one in the south (Dorset & Wilts), one in the north-west (Manchester).

12-04-2010 New Customer - Eastern Counties Rugby Referees

Following a demonstration in February, the EC Rugby Union Referees Federation have now subscribed to whos-the-ref.com match referee appointments website. The online system will manage appointment of referees and officials between societies which will be particuarly useful when Norfolk referees are asked to officiate in non-Norfolk Eastern Counties fixtures. The other constituant societies are also investigating whos-the-ref.com.

04-04-2010 Bristol WCACUS go live

Bristol WCACUS (the oldest match officals appointments body in the world!) follow quickly in Wiltshires footsteps and are now also live, with April and May's umpire appointments for Bristol and the West of England Premier League (WEPL) cricket matches now on the system.

25-03-2010 Wiltshire Association of Cricket Officials go live

Wiltshire ACO have become the first cricket ACO to enjoy the benefits of whos-the-umpire.com, with the first cricket umpire appointments being notified for the April matches.

21-02-2010 Demonstration for Eastern Counties Rugby

WhosTheRef.com will be demonstrated to Eastern Counties Rugby Union Referees Federation, which comprises Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex societies. Norfolk are already successfully using the system, the demonstration will highlight the benefits of using a single system throughout the Federation.

Local newspaper the Eastern Daily Press published a significant article in the Business Section higlighting the organisations that have adopted the "WhosTheRef.com" system for managing their appointments of sports officials to fixtures. FULL ARTICLE.

16-02-2010 Wiltshire Cricket Umpires sign up

Wiltshire Association of Cricket Officials have subsribed to "WhosTheUmpire.com" to manage their appointment of umpires and scorers for the coming 2010 season. It is hoped their neighbours Bristol will soon be on board too, and the two groups will be able to efficiently share information about officials who are members of both societies. This will be the first time Wiltshire ACO have used an online system to manager umpire appointments, and indeed they are the first in the country to adopt WhosTheUmpire.com.

The umpires version of "WhosTheRef.com" is demonstrated to two senior committee members (Colin Pitman and Peter Hemmings) of Wiltshire Accociation of Cricket Officials in offices near Melksham, Wilts.

WhosTheUmpire.com (AKA WhosTheRef.com) is demonstrated to two committee members (Les Clemenson and Martin Brown) from Bristol & Western Counties Associations of Cricker Umpires and Scorers - the oldest match officials association of any type in the world. They have also been left in the lurch following the demise of AssignByWeb.net, the intention is to configure WhosTheRef.com to provide a solution suitable for the management of cricket umpires and scorers.
